What Is Adobe Connect?

Adobe Connect is a product that allows you to attend and/or present online meetings. In an online Adobe Connect meeting, a presenter can show a document, write on a whiteboard, or demonstrate anything they like from their computer, while participants listen to the presenter's explanations. Participants can use a headset to talk during the meeting via the internet, type “chat” messages, download files, and participate in polls.

Durham Tech is performing an Adobe Connect Pilot with ten faculty and staff members, primarily from departments that budgeted for online meeting tools, for their online course instruction.

Practical Uses

  • Instructors can perform an online course orientation
    • Discuss course procedures, weekly tasks, and due dates
  • Instructors can present and discuss
    • Lessons, PowerPoints, videos, podcasts, web resources, projects, and/or group assignments
  • Online students can use the meeting to:
    • Present assignments/readings/papers to the class
