Screencast-O-Matic Install Instructions

Go to the Screencast-O-Matic home page: http://screencast-o-matic.com/home
Click on the "Start Recording" button
It will try to Launch the Recorder. If you have Java installed correctly and it is up-to-date, you could give permission to Java to run-but often it is not update-to-date or set up correctly.
- Instead, at this point, you have two choices: Download the launcher or Download the full app. See below for detailed install instructions for each choice.

Download the Screencast-O-Matic launcher

In the middle of the web page, below the heading "Get recorder launcher!", click on the Download launcher link
Click on the dialog box for the Installer, then click on the Save File button
In the upper right area of your Firefox toolbar, click on the blue down (download) button
Click on the Install file, then click on the "Run" button; you'll receive a pop-up letting you know the Screen Recorder is ready. Click OK.
In the middle of the web page, you'll see the message "Download Started!", below it, click on the try again link; you'll see a pop-up window for the Screen Recorder Launcher; click OK; you'll now see the Recorder appear.
You can now record your screen or use your webcam to create a video recording.

To restart the launcher:
- Click on the Home button on the Screencast-o-Matic web page
- Click on the Start Recording button
- Click OK on the pop-up window for the Screen Record Launcher

- Under Frequently Asked Questions, under the first question "What if I can't get it to work in the browser?", click on the link to "Download the full app install"
  - You'll need to save the install file and after it downloads, click on the file and run it. Click Next, then Install. I suggest you click beside "Create Desktop Shortcut", then click Finish. Click on "FREE Recorder".
  - You're now ready to record your screen or use your webcam to create a video recording.
