Screencast-O-Matic Install Instructions

How do you install Screencast-O-Matic?

Here are the instructions for installing Screencast-O-Matic on a Windows 10 pc, using the Firefox web browser. You can also download Screencast-O-Matic using Chrome and on a Mac. After the first few steps, you can either launch Screencast-o-Matic from your desktop, or download the Screencast-O-Matic Launcher.

1. Go to the Screencast-O-Matic home page: http://screencast-o-matic.com/home
2. Click on the Start Recording button
3. Click on the Launch Recorder button
   1. It will try to Launch the Recorder (you'll have to click on a button/link on a pop-up/dialog box to start it)
   2. Otherwise, click on the Download link and follow instructions

Download the Screencast-O-Matic launcher

• Click on the dialog box for the Installer, then click on the Save File button
• In the upper right area of your Firefox toolbar, click on the blue down (download) button
• Click on the Install file, then click on the Install file's Run button; you'll receive a pop-up letting you know the Screen Recorder is ready. Click OK.
• In the middle of the web page, you'll see the message "Download Started!", below it, click on the try again link; you'll see a pop-up window for the Screen Recorder Launcher; click OK; you'll now see the Recorder appear.
• You can now record your screen or use your webcam to create a video recording.

• To restart the launcher:
  • Click on the Home button on the Screencast-o-Matic web page
  • Click on the Start Recording button
  • Click OK on the pop-up window for the Screen Record Launcher
