Sakai Statistics Tool

  • Tracking Users and Resources (Duke)
  • Statistics(University of Florida)
  • Statistics (Rutgers)
  • In your Sakai course:
    • On the left, on the main menu, click on Statistics
    • At the top, click on Reports, before adding/creating a report, click on the Preferences button
      • Click to the left of the tools you want to track the activity of (click on the + button to see details of what is tracked for each tool)
    • Click on the Update button at the bottom when done.
    • Click on the Reports button again, to create your report

Click on the Add button:

  1. What: You can find out the activity of all events, or click on a specific tool
  2. When: Click on a date range or click on custom to pick specific date ranges/times
  3. Who: Leave All users, or click on custom and pick a user
  4. How: Choose Totals by User, Tool, Event and Date. To choose more than one field: hold down the CTRL button as you click on each field. You'll see exactly what each user did, when, with each tool
  5. You can leave the presentation as a Table
  6. Click on Generate Report
  • You can export the report as a CSV (spreadsheet)
  • To save your report:
    • Click on the Back button
    • Scroll to the top, add a report title
    • Scroll to the bottom, click on the save the report button
  • For example, for Forums, you can see the date a student created a new thread, read a thread, or have responded to a thread.
