Minimum computer requirements

  • Hardware: You must use a laptop or desktop; right now, you can't use tablets or smartphones
  • Software: You must have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed. Here's the Adobe Flash Player download link
    • If presenting: use the latest version of Google Chrome (You may have issues downloading/uploading presentation files with Mozilla Firefox)
    • You may need to setup Adobe Flash Player for Google Chrome: Here's Chrome's Flash Set-up tips.
  • Audio: If you're going to talk during the meeting, use a headset, otherwise you can just "listen" and use the chat area to post questions
  • When you join a meeting:
    • Web Browser permission: Meetings will prompt you to give your browser permission to get to your meeting.
    • Audio Set up: Meetings will allow you to test your audio and choose your microphone (if you have one).

Instructors (Presenters and Moderators) only

  • Instructors ( Presenters and Moderators) have the same computer requirements as students, with the following additions if sharing a desktop:
    • Network: We recommend that you use a wired (not a wireless) network, for the best results when sharing your desktop/laptop.
    • Software: To share your desktop, you must have the latest version of Java installed. If needed: Install Java on your computer.
      • If Java is not working after you install it, you may have to remove old Java versions, activate Java in your web browser or enable the Java Plug-in in your web browser.
Meeting Session FAQ's
  • Recommended Number of Users per meeting session: 25 or fewer. According to BigBlueButton, you may experience performance problems with more than 25 students in a single session.
