VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Interacting with Students We're going to go to the User module over here where all of the users are listed and click on the little wheel. There I have a few different options. I'm going to click on Mute all users except the presenter. I'm a moderator and a presenter, so I still want to speak. This is an easy way to make sure that you don't have any background noise, such as children crying or dogs barking. All right. Let's see if we can... Let's see if we can - Oh, it looks like after I typed in a message in the Public Chat, I've already had one of my students respond to me. Well, what if I need to send her a secret message? I could click on the user's name on the User panel and click on Start a private chat. Now you can see at the top right it's not the public chat displayed, it's a private chat with Ruth. So I'm going to send her a secret message. [KEYBOARD CLICKING] And I can see that her initials have popped up under Messages, under Public Chat. And Ruth has just saw the message and replied. So how do we get back to Public Chat? We can click on the Public Chat icon on the left under Messages. And there we go. We can see everyone else's messages. So that's the public chat area. What else can you do? Well, you could ask your students how they're doing, such as, 'Are you listening from home?' So if you ask a question and you want your students to answer, you can tell them that. Click on your name, click on Set status, and then choose thumbs up, thumbs down, you can say you're applauding, you're not sure where you are, pick whatever you like as your status. What will happen is, you can see that instead of the first two initials of their name, Ruth has a thumbs up icon. That's her emoji. And Martin has a smiley face. So now you know what everyone is feeling. Now how do you get rid of all of those emojis? You can go back to the wheel and the very first option is clear all status icons. Once I click that, everyone's first two initials of their first name appears again. All right. So that's a few things we can do with our students.
