If a student missed a Test or Quiz (Assessment) and you want to open it up so that only she/he can take it:
- Click on Test & Quizzes
- Click on the Published Copies tab
- Click on the drop down box to the left of the inactive assessment; click on Settings
- Change the settings so that the dates available match what you want to provide for this student
- Set up a username and password and give them only to this student.
- The username as well as the password must be one word, and should be lower-case, such as test3.
- Do not create a username or password with two words, such as "Test 3". Why? It won't work!
- Click Save to save the changes you made.
- When you are done with your edits, click "Republish" or "Regrade and republish" (if there were submissions that could be affected by your changes).
- Click Republish
Why create a username and password? This allows the student who missed the assessment to take it without opening the test up to the entire class.
